To Nathan:

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY!! Nathan had a party at his Lehi park with some of his cousins.
Here is his train cake that Scott and I made! I am glad Nathan liked it.
The best part of the week was having Oma here to play with. Nathan loved having her here.
And the best part of his birthday? Sleeping in his new Thomas tent with Daddy. I actually pulled Scott out of the tent later in the night, it was a pretty funny site to see Scott legs pokin' out the door. This where the quote that "conductors don't need blankets" comes from.
We love our little boy and are so lucky to be his parents. It is so fun to spend my days with him. 3-year-olds have the best outlook on life.

He weighed in at 14 lbs 2 oz, (95th percentile), 24 inches long (90th percentile)! He is almost keeping up with Nathan!

The morning his blessing. We had a great breakfast with family at our clubhouse and then we all headed over to the church for his blessing. He was so good during the blessing, I think he liked being bounced up there. It was so neat to see Scott bless him with so many family members. Thanks to those who came.

And, Daniel's first picture of him smiling! Scott got him to grin the other morning. He is really starting to babble and notice things around him. Yesterday, Nathan wanted to put him in the swing, so Scott put him in the swing. Nathan turned it on and put the animal mobile above him, and Daniel really liked looking at it and was babbling and grinning. It is so fun to have them wake up and notice things around them. Well, he is awake from naptime, so I guess it is time to post!!

Sunday Walk

So, I remember when living at home in beautiful Germany, I whined and balked when mom tried to gather the family for a sunday evening walk. And what am I doing now?? Suggesting and going for walks with my wonderful husband and our boys. We even took our camera a few weeks ago and did some pictures. This one reminds me of one of me when I was little. If I was really computer-savvy I would scan the picture in, but I'm note, so just take my word for it, Nathan looks a lot like I did when I was little. :)

Nathan is learning how to peddle his tricycle all by himself, he looks so cute with his helmet on. Its a miracle he's not wearing his soldier boots and shorts, he would be happy if those were the only clothes he ever wore.
Daniel is a sweetheart. He is sleeping better and smiling and cooing at us. He doesn't look to happy in this picture though, he prefers the walks where the stroller keeps moving, unfortunately, Nathan stops frequently to look at bugs and pick up rocks.

Our little boy Nathan is growing up so fast! He went to the dr. this week and is growing well, up to 38 lbs. (90th percentile) and 37 inches tall (75th percentile). He is going to be our linebacker!

Family Fun

I am having a hard time getting these cute pictures to turn-- I guess you'll just have to tilt your head a bit!! I am having fun doing more with our blog. Anyway, Nathan had fun laying by Daniel and smiling. We did have to end the photo session when Nathan wanted to lay on top of Daniel!! Daniel is growing quickly, up to 13 lbs 5 oz this week. He made a trip to the doctor this week and we think he has some reflux going on, but thankfully with his medicine he seems to be more comfortable.

Here are Scott and Nathan getting ready for BYU football this fall. Nathan has been taught well by his daddy-- he knows the cougar fight song and the who the coach is. He liked wearing this helmet that Scott found from his childhood play when helping his parents clean out their garage!

Life with Nathan

When we unpacked our fridge magnets, we found our little white board that we have been writing our quotes from Nathan on. These are from last spring, enjoy!!

"I want that sandwhich and you're my best friend."

Scott: "Are you hiding?"
Nathan: "....yes."

"That's a cloud hose to put out the fire."

As Nathan was opening Scott's cell phone he said, " Those are the numbers of the day!"

"Oh, that was too loud for me daddy," after Scott sneezed.

To Scott, "you have whiskers on."

"I don't take big bites, I'm little. I take little bites."

Nathan: "You're old."
Scott: "And what are you?"
Nathan: "I'm Nathan."
Scott: "But I'm a good-looking old man?"
Nathan: "no."

"I don't need a bath. Don't worry about me."

I am realizing that with 2 little kids I need to be a little bit more organized, so I followed the counsel of the primary song, "Saturday is a special day, the day we get ready for Sunday...."We gave Nathan and Daniel baths Saturday evening to ease the Sunday morning getting-ready-for-church process. Surfacing from the piles of boxes...

We are finally getting to the point where we can do something besides unpacking and cleaning!! Curt and Stella were WONDERFUL painters- they helped paint before we moved in. Daniel slept in the bedroom (notice the BYU shirt!!) while we painted all day. The thought of entertaining a 2 year old around wet pain was not a fun one, so Nathan spent the day with Grandma and Grandpa Johnson.



We will have to share pictures of our place after we are all organized and cutsy! Haven't quite gotten there yet.




I can't believe I am showing the picture of the mess.. but it was like "where's waldo!" Can you see the baby? Every after Nathan is in bed and Daniel is napping, we have been doing projects around the house. Scott has been amazing doing all the moving in and shuffling boxes, furniture, etc for me while I feed Daniel and think of more things to do around the house! (Not to mention working all day!)


Needless to say, we are loving life with our two boys.
